Meet Libby, one of our ‘18-‘19 scholars!
“I have been seeking out a community of students with whom I can discuss equity, politics, justice, gender, discrimination, oppression, and empathy in a way that allows us to push each other and hold one another accountable. In my field of study, I don’t often have the opportunity to find groups like this, which is why I applied to the Oaks Leadership Scholars Program.
My goals for the school year are to look back on where I began the program with the ability to pinpoint my initial assumptions and questions about leadership, awareness, and how to most kindly navigate the world so that I can critique and understand how I have grown. I want to know which conversations challenged me, which questions pushed me in unforeseen directions, and which relationships were critical.
After I graduate, I plan to pursue a M.S. in Horticultural Science.”
